Pickup Trucks: 2015-2017 Mercedes-Benz Metris: Recall Alert

By Patrick Masterson

Vehicles Affected: Approximately 7,400 model-year 2015-17 Mercedes-Benz Metris vans

The Problem: The transmission support may not have been properly tightened to the body, potentially resulting in damage to the driveshaft that could cause a loss of power to the wheels, increasing the risk of a crash.

The Fix: Dealers will inspect the transmission support mounting bolts, replacing and tightening them as necessary, for free.

What Owners Should Do: Mercedes-Benz automaker Daimler Vans has not yet provided an owner-notification schedule. Owners can call the automaker at 877-762-8267, the National Highway Traffic Safety Administration's vehicle-safety hotline at 888-327-4236 or visit its website to check their vehicle identification number and learn more.
